Weather technology company ClimaCell is partnering with Uber Technologies to give drivers and riders more accurate estimated arrival times.
The partnership will integrate ClimaCell insights into Uber’s platform, supplementing various data sources and models that take account of disruptive weather events such as rain, snow and strong winds.
The information will offer more accurate estimated arrival times to drivers and riders using the Uber app, based on the true impact of weather.
ClimaCell’s Insights Dashboard provides information that makes it easier for clients to understand how their platforms will be affected by specific weather parameters and drive better actions.
Nick Johnson, business development manager – maps and technology at Uber, said, “With the support of ClimaCell we’re providing even more accurate ETAs based on insights from their on-demand forecasts. We’re excited about this partnership and the integration with our platform.”
Shimon Elkabetz, CEO and co-founder of ClimaCell, said, “Uber has already revolutionized the way we ride. With ClimaCell’s totally unique hyper-granular forecasts, Uber is in a position to include real-time insights into the day-by-day, hour-by-hour, and even minute-by-minute weather conditions that will dramatically improve forecasting. We’re excited about helping Uber set the world in motion.”
