Show floor highlights
Visitors will be able to see firsthand the latest developments in air quality monitoring systems, advance warning systems, automatic weather stations, lidars, lightning prediction systems, climate data modeling and extreme weather prediction and detection systems.
Technological highlights include: cutting-edge solid-state weather radars; a tool for hyperlocal weather simulations; AI-enhanced weather forecasts for hazards affecting aviation; an ultra-high-resolution weather dashboard; an all-in-one weather station with wind speed measurement; x-band Doppler radars for advanced 3D weather monitoring; new digital pyranometers; and a new generation of CRNS probes that use cosmic rays for water measurement. Geolux will present its radar-based instruments for measuring water level and discharge, as well as new products including a snow depth radar sensor, a radar for measuring wave height and periods, and, making its debut at the show, the new SmartObserverPlus datalogger. The new datalogger features dual-SIM communication, an internal programmable MicroPython engine and multiple instrument communication interfaces, offering versatility and flexibility for various datalogging needs.
Observator Instruments will also unveil its latest innovation – the Observator Sentinel range. This comprehensive suite of environmental monitoring and measurement stations is designed to elevate environmental air quality management. The Observator Sentinel range offers professional-grade air quality stations, capable of monitoring the particulate matter, gases, noise, traffic and more. These advanced solutions are tailored for diverse applications across marine, aviation, road traffic and general meteorology, meeting the growing demand for precise environmental data.
Reuniwatt will showcase its network of thermal imagers for cloud and irradiance data monitoring and forecasting. The Sky InSight thermal imagers accurately analyze weather and cloud cover 24/7 around airports, as a remote observer. Thermal vision enables continuous 360° observation of the sky, day and night, from one horizon to another. The network measures cloudiness, determines the fraction of clouds live with a temporal resolution of 30 seconds and identifies the types of clouds present in its field of view. It is a cost-effective new tool to warn well in advance of any potential danger from any direction.
LCJ Capteurs will showcase its ultrasonic wind sensors while celebrating its 25th anniversary at the expo. Historically intended for the maritime market, these ultrasonic wind-vane anemometers are also applied in various land-based applications such as precision agriculture, public security, HVAC systems, smart buildings and air quality monitoring. According to the company, accuracy, reliability, robustness, low power consumption and good value are the key features of the CV7 and Sonic-Anemo range.
WMO TECO-2024
Meteorological Technology World Expo will also host the WMO Technical Conference on Meteorological and Environmental Instruments and Methods of Observation (TECO-2024) – one of the most important events in the meteorological industry calendar. The event’s theme will be ‘Measurements and new technologies for WMO priority initiatives’.
This unique event will bring together measurement experts from several communities and the private sector to share knowledge and delve into the most pressing topics in the industry, all while networking with thousands of fellow professionals. A total of 56 oral presentations and 175 poster presentations will be delivered by experts representing NMHSs, other public agencies and research institutions, as well as manufacturers of measurement equipment.
The six conference sessions are: new measurement technologies and innovative integrated approaches; environmental sustainability of observing systems; characterization and testing of instruments and methods; traceability of measurements to recognized standards; quality assurance and maintenance of the observing systems; and capacity development for sustainable and quality measurements.
Additionally, panelists from different communities will discuss measurement-related issues, with active audience engagement. These three sessions will cover: trends and innovation in measurement technologies; evolving measurement requirements for WMO priorities (EW4All, G3W, GBON, RBON and WIGOS Vision); and capacity development and challenges in maintaining measurement networks.
