Founded in 2007., Geolux manufactures radar instruments for water level and surface velocity monitoring. These instruments transmit radio waves towards the water surface and, as the transmitted waves bounce back from the water to the instrument, measure water level, and surface velocity. The use of radar technology allows the instruments to be mounted up to 30 meters above the water surface, making installation quick and simple, while keeping maintenance minimal. Geolux products are being used in over 5000 locations in Africa, North and South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Geolux LX-80 is an 80 GHz radar water level sensor designed for environmental monitoring applications. With measuring distance up to 30 meters, and scan rate up to 10 samples per second, this is a highly reliable and accurate instrument that is used for monitoring of water level in rivers, channels, lakes, and for detection of both waves and tides in oceanographic applications.
Geolux RSS-2-300 W is a surface velocity radar that measures surface velocity in open channels. It can be combined with the water level sensor to calculate the total discharge based on water level and surface velocity measurements. The accuracy of this instrument has been certified in the Swiss METAS institute.
